The thirteen Grand Slam singles champion Serena William is ranked 9 will be the first in the women's singles list for the US Open 2020 which will happen at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y on 31st August until 13 September 2020. 


The two-time Grand Slam champion and Number 2 Simona Halep will lead the field along with other big players such as two times Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka who ranked 10, No. 9 Serena Williams, No. 8 Belinda Bencic, No. 7 Kiki Bertens, No. 6 Bianca Andreescu, No. 5 Elina Svitolina, No. 4 Sofia Kenin and No. 3 Karolina Pliskova.


In this field, 8 extra Grand Slam winners will take part such as No. 58 Victoria Azarenka, No. 67 Venus Williams, No. 41 Jelena Ostapenko, No. 37 Sloane Stephens, No. 32 Svetlana Kuznetsova, No. 21 Angelique Kerber, No. 16 Garbiñe Muguruza and No. 12 Petra Kvitova.


In this season tournament, 19 Americans got direct entry including No. 124 Caty McNally, No. 113 Shelby Rogers, No. 88 Christina McHale, No. 80 Jessica Pegula, No. 79 Madison Brengle, No. 73 Taylor Townsend, No. 67 Venus Williams, No. 62 Lauren Davis, No. 60 Bernarda Pera, No. 52 Coco Gauff, No. 51 Danielle Collins, No. 48 Jennifer Brady, No. 37 Sloane Stephens, No. 29 Amanda Anisimova, No. 19 Alison Riske, No. 13 Madison Keys, No. 9 Serena Williams and No. 4 Sofia Kenin.


The last player No. 127 Lizette Cabrera gets direct entry in the women’s singles field. Another 4 players get an entry by using protected rankings No. 123 Tsvetana Pironkova, No. 120 Vera Lapko, No. 85 Kateryna Bondarenko, and No. 78 Vera Zvonareva. USTA selected 8 additional wild card entries.


On 3rd August the WTA rankings were used to decide the US Open main-draw entry list. Seeds will be decided and declared prior to the tournament.
